The Arbequina olive usually produces an oil that is slightly nutty and sweet, with an alluring aroma together with some hints of bitterness and pungency. Typically harvested late in the season -- late January or early February -- the oil is generally mild with distinct fruitiness.
Our Arbequina olive oil is certified Organic by the USDA and Extra Virgin by the California Olive Oil Council. It is perfect with poached fish, hot and cold vegetable soups, delicate sauces, steamed or sautéed vegetables, and chicken. The oil is well suited for grilling applications and for use as a drizzle on grilled fish and shrimp. It is often used for sautéing. It is even fantastic on vanilla ice cream with some SECOLARI Fleur de Sel Sea Salt.
Our estate producer won the Gold Medal for this oil at the annual California Olive Oil Council Competition.
We recommend its use with the following related products: Blackberry Balsamic, Raspberry with Basil Vinegar, Traditional Balsamic, White Balsamic, Porcini Sea Salt, Black Truffle Sea Salt, Tuscan Minestrone Soup, and Fisherman's Stew.
